Anthony M. Solomon has been president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York since 1980. In that position, he also serves as vice-chairman of the Federal Open Market Committee, the top monetary policymaking unit of the Federal Reserve System. During a distinguished career of more than 40 years, he has held several important positions with the U.S. Government, including, most recently, Under Secretary of the Treasury for Monetary Affairs.
