Modern management techniques and new technologies are being applied to the service sector in order to make it more efficient, according to an authority on service industries. Irving Leveson is senior vice-president and director of research with Hudson Strategy Group, a research and consulting organization. From 1974 to 1984, he served as director of economic studies of Hudson Institute, and he earlier was with the National Bureau of Economic Research and Rand Corporation. Dr. Leveson's books include The Modern Service Sector and The Future of the Financial Services Industry.
