Isi artikel
The most important thing the information revolution could do is to eventually put everyone in the world on a common footing in terms of access to sources of knowledge and access to each other, says a top scientist of the world's leading computer manufacturer. This interview was conducted by Anthony Lentini, an editor of The Woodlands Forum. Lewis M. Branscomb is vice-president and chief scientist of IBM Corporation and a member of its Corporate Management Board. Prior to joining IBM, he was with the National Bureau of Standards, serving as its director from 1969 to 1972. A research physicist, Dr. Branscomb has represented the United States at a number of international scientific meetings and conferences, and he has been an adviser to the U.S. Government on several occasions, including the President's Science Advisory Committee, the National Science Board, and the President's Productivity Advisory Commission.
