Henry C. Wallich has been a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the U.S. central bank, since 1974. Prior to his appointment, he was professor of economics at Yale University for more than 20 years, taking a leave of absence in 1959-1961 to serve as a member of the President's Council of Economic Advisers.
