The experiment was performed at Plant Breeding Tissue Culture Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Padjadjaran University from May 2004 until November 2004. Three treatments of coconut milk were applied for each genotype with consisted of 7 bottles per treatment. Result of the experiment showed that there was difference growth response between Dendrobium and Phalaenopsis explants. Explant of Phalaenopsis regenerated until the end of the experiment (100 days after culture(dac)) in all treatments. Result of t-test showed that VW medium consisting of 200 ml coconut milk (v/v) gave higher number of planlet leaf than VW medium consisting of 150 ml coconut milk on Dendrobium explant. Higher value on number of shoot of Dendrobium was obtained from culture medium consisting of VW + 150 ml coconut milk (v/v) with the average value of 2.28 better than the culture medium consisting of VW + 100 ml coconut milk with an average value of 1.71 and the culture medium consisting of VW + 200 ml coconut milk with an average value of 1.86. It is suggested that VW + 150 ml coconut milk medium can be used for rapid propagation. The VW medium supplemented with 200 ml coconut milk have positive effect on number of rooted plantlets with average value of 1.71, plantlet height with average value of 2.93 cm, number of plantlet leaf with average value of 4.64 and number of plantlet root with average value of 4.14.
