Isi artikel
Profound differences in lifestyles, attitudes and institutions are a certainty in the last quarter of the 20th century as a result of increasing pressures on the earth's limited resources, according to the author of this farsighted article who forecasts an era of challenge to both human ingenuity and capacity to change. Lester R. Brown heads the Worldwatch Institute, a Washington-board research organization established in 1975 to analyze global problems. Mr. Brown is the author of many books and articles, including World Without Borders, In the Human Interest, and By Bread Alone. The following article was excerpted from his recent book, The Twenty Ninth Day, published in April 1978.
