Since the standard prescription of fighting inflation by allowing the unemployment rate to rise above its natural rate does not seem to work well any more, he suggests a new approach: reducing unemployment and inflation at the same time with incentives from tax-oriented incomes policies. A native of germany who came to the United States in1935, Henry Wallich has achieved dinstinction in the highest academic and government circles.
