Street food is a ready-to-consume snacks and beverages which were prepared and served at public places, i.e. schools. In this study, 12 isolates of V. cholerae non-Ol have been isolated from 12 (4%) contaminated ice of total 300 ice samples which were served in private and public schools in different location throughout Central, West, and East Jakarta. All isolates were confirmed to be V. cholerae non-Ol using biochemical and serological tests. Additionally, all of them were detected for the presence of the ctxA and tcpl gene which is part of the virulence factors. None ctxA and tcpl gene were discovered from the 12 V. cholerae non-Ol isolates. |
