Isi artikel
The rise of nearly 50 small, highly innovative steel firms that produce specialized steel products profitably refutes the notion that the United States is "deindustrializing," this article explains. Donald F. Barnett is an associated staff member of the Brookings Institution and a consultant to the World Bank. Robert W. Crandall, a senior fellow in the Economic Studies program at Brookings, was formerly deputy director of the U.S. Council on Wage and Price Stability. This article is drawn from thier recent book, Up From the Ashes: The Rise of the Steel Minimill in the United States.
