Isi artikel
It took more than a decade of government-industry effort to build tourism in the United states into the 61-thousand-million-dollar-a-year economic giant it is today-a phenomenon exceeded only by grocery sales in terms of retail spending. In retrospect, it seems that up to the 1970s, the United States was an underdeveloped nation in the area of tourism. Comparing in the success of long-practiced and well-funded expertise elsewhere-especially in Euirope and Caribbean islands-the U.S. tourist industry was lethargic.
