Isi artikelToday's business environments are characterized by the increasing pace of technological change, massive economic and demongraphic change, accelerating globalization of business and unpredictable change. n these circumstances, a company's competitive advantage lies in their ability to effectively implement innovation strategy to create value through product innovation. This ability to innovate is among the most important factors that affect firm performance and its competitiveness. Firm's competitiveness is merely a function of distinctive resource and capabilities controlled by a firm. Those rresources must be valuable, rare, inimitable and non-sustainable. They lead to the achievement of sustainable competitive advantage that can not be easily duplicated by competitors. This concept is known as resources-based view. Through innovation strategy, firms are attempting to introduce new products in the internatinal markets\. The decision to choose different types of innovation (incremental innovation and radical innovation) is based on market characteristics, institutional development and customer behavior.
