Isi artikel
It is now a matter of record that when such element as the laws of supply and demand, scientific theory, human energy and money have been brought togeteher under relatively free conditions, they have produced some "remarkable results," Professor Morison points out, citing the steam engine, steel making, and the oil industry as among the major technological development of recent times. He adds, warning that "the emerging question is whether and how these systems can be controlled in the interests of human needs and satisfactions." Educated at Harvard University, Professor Morigan taught history and American studies at Yale University from 1968 to 1972 and currently is on the faculty of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. A consultant to a number of private firms and to the U.S. Department of Defense, he is well-known specialist in the history of technology and has written among other books, Men, Machines and Modern Times and From Know-How to Nowhere.
