Isi artikel
Gross National Product (GNP) is probably the single most important statistic used in measuring the state of an economy. It is a sort of "national balance sheet" which is scrutinized carefully by economists and especially by policy officials and corporate planners. But compiling quarterly and annual U.S. GNP figures is ahighly complex process subject to frequent revision, as this article, which examines the work of the U.S. Commerce Department's Bureau of Economic Analysis in Washington, makes clear. Edward Meadows is an associate editor of Fortune, a well-known U.S. magazine dealing with business and economics.
