He warns that efforts to eradicate poverty and eliminate unemployment through capital formation in the modern sector often have not worked, and suggests that planners would be better advised to examine carefully traditional arrangement and build more employment into them. A native of the State of Texas, Dr. bruton was educated at the University of Texas and Harvard University, and currently is professor of economics at Williams College.
