Isi artikel
The author believes that reality does not substantiate the gloomy viewpoint, recently growing, that the risks in international lending are too great for the prudent lender to undertake. To set the record straight, he gives a brief history of the losses incurred in international lending over the past 150 years, and discusses the lender's responses. Positive factors, he concludes, outwigh uncertainties. Dr. Davis has a practical background to support his argument: since 1973 he has been managing director for First International Banchares Limited in London, and formerly was first vice president of the Bankers Trust Company of New York, with responsibility for the bank's European headquarters.
