It will examine whether the students' letters are structured or organized based on the framework and style used for structuring business letters. The models/styles for this study incorporate criteria proposed by Taylor (1998), Macintosh (1978) and Ashley (1984) for composing routine business letters with regard to the four types. The data are taken from the students' business letters written in the final examination of the business letter- writing. The research findings on the students' business letter-writing indicate both the competence and incompetence of the students in structuring the message of the letters based on the framework and style normally used. To sum up, the study reveals that only a few students are able to understand both the macro-concepts of business letter-writing. The rest are not able to apply the micro-concept to structure the letters in terms of the language elements, collocations and vocabulary. Based on the explanations and the analysis on the previous chapter, the conclusion pertaining to the students' ability in business letter writing is drawn. From the conclusion, this research is significant for a number of parties involved in the process of teaching and learning in order to enhance their students' performance in many areas of business letter writing.
