Isi artikel
Peter Drucker has achieved such prominent in corporate and government management circles that he qualifies as a cult, a New York Times interviewer wrote as the Vienna-born professor's 839-page Management: Tasks, Responsibilities, Practices moved up on the best-seller list during 1974. Despite his phenomenal success as author, teacher and international consultant, Professor drucker remarked "I'm the world's worst manager... My major contribution to clients has been as a listener. I force the client to think out loud". since obtaining his doctorate in law at the University of Frankfurt in 1931, Professor Drucker has received honorary degrees from British, Japanese, Swiss and U.S. universities. He left Germany in 1933 and spent four years in England as a journalist before going to the United States. In 1971, he moved to the Claremont Graduate School in California after a distinguished association of 22 years at New York University, where he returned to give lecture from which this article is drawn. In it, he develops the position that the essential role of monitoring the impact of technology must be played by the business community.
