Isi artikel
Most people's lives are divided between work and leisure time. But, while much attention has been paid to the former, what about leisure? German-born Rolf Meyersohn, professor of sociology at Lehman College in New York, takes a look at some varied aspects of the New Leisure in the United States and finds some major sociological changes under way. Even so, says the author who is a former director of the Center for the Study of Leisure at the University of Chicago and a coeditor of Mass Leisure (1958), the off-duty activities of contemporary U.S. citizens are still bounded closely by work cycles set in the past.
