On April 15th, 1994 111 nations signed the treaty on the World Trade Organisation (WTO) in Marrakesh. The foundation of the WTO has brought to an end the longest and possibly the most difficult of nine rounds of multilateral GATT talks (Uruguay Round, 1986-1994). This 'shange of the tide' concerns a wide range of different aspects in international trade policy and therefore will influence this interests of developing countries (LDGs) in multiple ways.
