Talking about the effectiveness in teaching is constantly discussed by many educators particularly in English as a second language. Collins (2006) who is concerned with the educational program and methodology has reminded teachers about dealing with the students’ assessment result in the classroom that “don’t try to fix the students, fix ourselves first. The good teacher makes the poor student good and the good student superior. When our students fail, we, as teachers, too, have failed.” Hence, a teacher should make some renewal method of teaching though there is no precise technique for successful teaching. Then, the idea is to help students achieve fluency in English which seems difficult. Some researchers (Collie et al. 1987 and Brumfit et al. 1987) believed that literature could assist students to study English easier and develop students’ competence especially in learning foreign language. Then, it could also motivate students to study English in an attractive way. |
