The international community has embarked on developing a set of international standards and codes aimed at strengthening the international financial system. There are 12 standards designed by a number of international institutions considered as key for sound financial system and deserving priority in implementation. The key standards, listed below, are broadly accepted as representing minimum requirements for good practice.
