Interaction of Cd(II) with chitin and chitosen was studied. Three investigated variabel are initial pH, contact time and the kind of interaction between Cd(II) and chitin and chitosan. Interaction process was conducted in batch method. The metal concentration was determined by atomic absorption apectrophotometer using air-acetylene as atomizing flame. Meanwhile, the functional groups of the chitin and chitosan before and after interaction with Cd(II) were analyzed by FTIR spectrophotometer.
