Isi artikel
Avicenna was probably the first to investigate the including of emotional stress: he used two lambs, one of which was placed in a cage next to a wolf and the other was left free. The animal which found it impossible to avoid the danger deriving from the immediate vicnity of the wolf died. The purpose of Avicenna's experiment was to prove that emotions, arising, for instance, from impossibility of helping oneself out of a conflict situation, are biologically relevant, and lead to depression, fear, cardiovascular and respiratory disorders, and ultimately death (N.M. Madifdov, V.D. Gordieva, 1980).
