Isi artikel
AIDS is a new disease which was first recognized in 1981 and has been reported in 127 countries. The World Health Organization estimates that by 1991 there will be between 50 and 100 million people worldwide infected with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus, HIV. This is a conservative estimate, in that it assumes Asia and Latin America will not be badly affected. It is now thought that the majority of these 50 to 100 million will develop AIDS. The number infected will continues to rise, doubling every six to twelve months. So by the late 1990s the situaton may be much worse even than this WHO estimate suggests.
