Isi artikelThe Acquired Immuno-Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is characterized by numerous psychological and psychiatric problems which help to make this disease now more feared than cancer, and while waiting for an effective cure, the affiliction par excellence of our age. Indeed, in addition to certain aspects present in all diseases which are potentially mortal, such as the feeling of imminent death, fear of suffering, uncertanty with regard to the future, and the existential reorganization of the social, familial, and work role, the HIV infection adds other problems in a special way (Nicholas 1984, Dilley 1985, Cazullo 1989, 1989c).
