Isi artikelAcquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) is characterized by severe T-cell deficiency and abnormal B-cell behaviour, clinically reflected in an increased frequency of opportunistic infections and of Kaposi's sarcoma (1-4). A broad spectrum of abnormalities is common in AIDS patients, ranging from a drastic reduction in the number of CD4 lymphocytes , to a depressed proliferative response to mitogens, antigens, alloantigens and autoantigens (1-5).
