The Faculty of Law of Kyushu University, by establishing an institution named The Center for Conflict Management Studies in 2001, had embarked on the efforts to clarify such questions with the hope that, by doing so, it can contribute to the overall efforts of Asian jurists to make the world more just and equitable. This paper is an attempt to address those questions mentioned above. The paper first individually examines the theories of integration, cooperation and competition, and recognition, and clarifies the characteristics and roles of each theory. The integration theory encompasses the exchange theory; the theory of cooperation and competition is a social psychology theory; and the recognition theory is associated with the relational theory. Then, I will provide my views about the application models of the exchange 3 theory and the relational theory. As a note, the exchange theory is excluded from the discussions in this paper, as it was dealt with in depth in my previous paper. |
