The choice of this Marian Sanctuary in Northern India was no accident. As the Holy Father observed in his message for this World Day: 'Vailankanni does not only attract Christian pilgrims but also many followers of other religions, in paricular Hindus who see in Our Lady of Health the caring and compassionate Mother of suffering mankind.
