In this paper we will study this area by referring to what John Paul II has said about Christian voluntary work. Since 1979, His Holiness has dealt with this subject on more than a hundred and seventy occasions. We will summarise his thought under four headings: the premises, the personality, the characteristics, and the action of Christian voluntary work.
