The task of the participants was to: 1) Assess the implementation of our programmes according to the goals that we have set ourselves over the last five years. 2) Make sugesstions to shape the practical purpose of our Pontificial Council at the beginning of the thrid millenium according to the Apostolic Constitution 'Pastor Bonus', the Motu Proprio 'Dolentium Hominim' (the document that established this dicastery), and the Apostolic Exhortation 'Novo Millennio Ineunte'.
