| The development of competition law in Indonesia started with the formulation of Law Number 5 Year 1999 regarding the Prohibition of Monopolistic Practices and Unfair Business Competition. The law was officially enacted by the government on March 5, 1999. The formulation of this law coincided with the economic crisis that struck Indonesia at the end of 1997 and culminated in the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Indonesian government and IMF. |
