Although the Indonesian National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) has been established for about 13 years, many difficulties and challenges are still occurring. These problems are very broad and complex, ranging from internal affairs to other related issues that the Commission is dealing with. Like in many other countries, the Komnas HAM is formed to ensure the protection of human rights in Indonesia, as well as to respond to any human rights violation and to bring remedy for the victim. As part of its work, the Komnas HAM is also authorized to undertake an investigation when a serious violation to human rights is allegedly occurring.1 Those who seat in the Commission will determine the successful completion of the programs and most importantly, will show the integrity of the Commission. |
