Seismic wave velocity plays an important role in oil and gas exploration and production. This velocity is a result of interaction between wave energy and the medium. Therefore, everything which is contained in the subsurface rock layers is manifested inside the velocity. The problem is how to translete the representation of the material inside the velocity into the real world. This will become a challenging research topic which is not easy to solve.
