Isi artikelThe objectives of this study were to describe the application of tutorial model and its application to distance elementary teacher education in impmving the ability of elementary schoolteachers in teaching science and to investigate the impact of tutorial model on elementary school teachers’ performance in teaching science. The strategy used on tutorial started by observing video recorded modeling, discussion, creating lesson plan, simulation in the form of peer teaching, enrichment, and teaching in real situation in elementary school setting, called strategy TDPSPM. Instructional media used in this study was video program which consists of an example on how teachers should teach science in elementary school besides modules which were designed as a media for distance education. This study involved 19 elementary schoolteachers, who are also students of program of Si PGSD in one of regional office of Universitas Terbuka. This study was conducted in six weeks by applying one group pretest-posttest design.
