Isi artikel
The small village of Velankani on the southern tip of india is thought to be a holy place, one that draws Christians pilgrims to a Roman Catholic basilica there, but also Muslim and Hindus, too seeking blessings and good fortune. Last week in Velankani, Christian, Muslim, and Hindu together prayed for their dead-and all the while struggled desperately to save the living. Thousands had died when the killer tsunami struck the coastal religion of Nagapattinam, but in its wake, 75000 more people-half the population of the area affected-crowded into hastily built refugee camps.
