Isi artikel
On November 21, 2007, the nikkei average on the Tokyo Stock Exchange fell below 15,000 points, after having risen above 18,000 points during the summer. Chief executives have lost their jobs at Citigroup and Merril Lynch, two major American financial institutions hit by unexpectedly large losses from the subprime mortgage cricic, and shock waves are rippling around the world. The optimistic assumption that the Japanese economy can remain blithely unconcerned is no longer tenable. Indeed, people are becoming incresdingly worried about whether the crisis may also spread destruction across Japan.
