According to some expert beside the economical value, seaweed type Gradilaria spp. has ability to absorb nutrient. Grad/aria spp. also play role as bioaccumulator agent, because of their adaptation ability to the change of salinity, light intensity, and temperature, beside their ability to absorb nutrient from the environment. The nutrient absorption ability of Grad/aria spp. is proofed by the research with two treatments and each treatment is repeated twice. First treatment, observation media is filled with seawater that is enriched with certain concentration nutrient. Second treatment, the media is the same as first treatmen, but 500 gr Gradilaria spp. is added to the media. Change in the water quality is known by checking the water temperature and salinity. The result shows that absorption rate level of total nitrogen by Gracilaria spp. and environment is about 37.07 mg//per day (27.28%) and 12.31 mg//per day (8.78%). Absorption rate level of total phosphate by Gradilaria spp. and environment is about 5.O8mg’lperday(4 1.80%) and 0.98 mgil per day (7.76%). The water quality observation result shows that water quality change during the research is still can be tolerated by Gracilaria spp.
