There is a very 21st century, very multicultural British symmetry to Anna Hassan being headteacher of a school full of children who look like they just walked out of a United Colours of Benetton advert because she’s something of a one woman ad herself: of Italian parentage, married to a Turkish Cypriot, speaking with an unmistakable Belfast twang. No wonder she’s rapturously at home with children and parents from the four corners of the world.
