Isi artikel
Primarily, this paper is about special education for pupils with profound intellectual disabilities. Such pupils are few in number, and their requirements of the educational system are often different qualitatively from the educational needs of the majority. Their needs can be special needs. However, they give us ’lessons from the periphery’ (Canevaro 1984) because that is a useful position from which to view the system for all pupils. How robust and coherent does the system appear from out there? What lessons are there for its other parts?
