Isi artikelDue to its rapid changes and varied denominations, translation has been characterized with debates about its concepts. Some scholars use different notions, but refer to the same concepts. To that end, this paper discusses about overlapping use of translation method, strategy, and technique. The first two are classified as part of translation process, whereas the latter is addressed in translation as product. In conclusion, method refers to the way a translation process is carried out in terms of the translator’s objective, which affects the whole target text. Strategy refers to procedures a translator employs in order to solve problems. Finally, technique talks about categories that allow us to describe the actual steps taken by the translators in each textual micro-unit by comparing the sourte text to the target one. Key word: translation as process and product, translation method, strategy, and technique.
