Isi artikel
The papers in this number of the Journal continue discussion of methods and topics in clinical ethics. These papers also occasion questions about reification versus synergy in methods of clinical ethics and the adequacy of current clinical ethics to the new managed practice of medicine. The first two papers address methodological questions, while the next two papers concern topics. his “Clinical Ethics” number of the Journal also inaugurates a new feature of the annual clinical ethics issue, review of recent book-length work in clinical ethics. Work in the field of clinical ethics initially appeared exclusively in article form. Now, however, the development of a large literature and an increased appreciation for the complexity of the issues make possible — indeed, call for — book-length studies. This is certainly true for informed consent and so a book on this topic leads off the book review feature.
