Seen from outside, Somerford Infant School on the outskirts of Christchurch, near Bournmouth is typically a school, like many others. It’s next to the a school, like many others. It’s next to the junior school. Across the fields is a large comprehensive school. What isn’t apparent from outside is that this school is on the cutting edge of England’s major educational problem; narrowing the educational achievement gap.
