Isi artikelSilver and Bufanio's (1996) article pertainig to effect of cognitive factors on group behaviour is interesting and well written, but it seems to me that their results do not support their conclusions. The authors propose that group performance is significantly influenced by two cognitive factors : group efficacy, the group's colelction belief that it can be effective and group goals, the outcomes to which group members aspire as a unit. They hypothesize : a. that past performance influences group efficacy and group goals b. that group efficacy also influences group goals and c. that both group efficacy and group goals influence subsequent group performance.
