Isi artikel
With sustainability the talk of the conference, and so much of the industry, it was natural that some presentation at February's Nova-Pack conference in Orlando, FL would discuss polylactic acid (PLA), a strach-based plastic suitable for industrial composting (not suitable for industrial compositing (not biodegradable), as a possible alternative to polyethylene terepthalate (PET) in stretch or injection blowmolded beverage bottles. With no repsentative from NatureWorks, the largest PLA supplier, on hand to offer any counter-arguments, PLA didn't fare well.
