A werranty is a contractual agreement between a manufacturer and the consumer, which requires the manufacturer dealer to rectify all item failure that occur within the warranty period. Warranty can be sold for second hand product with a new contractual agreement. A warranty can be viewed as an alternative of aftersals service thatvplays an important role in product sales. To obtain a second hand product warranty, the consumer must pay an in product sales. To obtain a second hand product warranty, the consumer must pay an additional cost. This paper studies the warranty policy for a second-hand product sold with two-dimensional warranty. We propose and study a model of second-hand product warranty policies with 3 different alternatives policies based on the coverage region of the warranty. System failure is modeled using the one-dimensional point process formulation where the usage is modeled as a function of time. Parameter estimation for the failure model was done using cliam and follow-up data and this results in amore representative reliability model compared. The policy proposed and the corresponding costs models of second-hand product warranty are applied for copier sold in Yogyakarta region from 2005 to 2006. The results of the warranty costs estimation for each alternative are given in this paper.
