Isi artikel
The city of Nanjing, China, is home to the Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall, which is now seeking recognition as UNESCO World Heritage site. In 2005 work started on the expansion and refurbishment of this museum; this project included the erection of two bronze statues, one each of John Rabe (1882-1950), the German businessman who headed the International Committee for the Nanking Safety Zone during the events of 1937, and the Chinese-American writer Iris Chang, who committed suicide in 2004 at the age of 36.
