Moral philosohers constantly remind us how very important it is to treat one another with respect. After all, we are persons; and persons have a special dignity. Persons are ends in themselves- and must be acknowlegde as such. Experts on manners have a strikingly similiar drum beat. They tell us how very important it is to treat one another respectfully. We must not offend the dignity of others if we can possibly avoid doing so. We must treat other people with as much consideration as possible.
