In various policy studies, it is found that a policy is greatly influenced by ideas. For example, the ideas of John Maynard Keynes were adopted as the national economic policy of the United States in the post-World War II period. The policy was promoted by an epistemic community that supported Keynes' ideas. The epistemic community at the end was very influential in setting the direction of US economic policies-as well as the world economic policies-after World War II.
