This study investigates the motivational factors of learners from four different groups who are learning English through formal, non-formal, as well as informal education. A total of a hundred learners answered a questionnaire that consisted of 108 items. The data were collected through a survey method. T-tests, ANOVA, correlation coefficients as well as interviews were used to address the research questions. The result of the study shows that the English Conversation Club was the more motivated group in comparison with the other groups. It also indicates that perceived value of activity, masteiy, attitudes, affective state (confidence) and the learning environment motivated and sustained them to learn the language. In addition to that, the learners have an instrumental orientation in their EFL learning. |
