Isi artikelG.E. Moore is famous for having rejected ethical naturalism, the thesis that ethical properties are purely natural propeties, or that ethical assertions are about purely natural matters of fact.Altough his published arguments against this view occur primaly in his early Principia Ethica, it is clear that his opposition was life long.In his well-known exchange with Charles Stevenson in The Philosophy of G.E. Moore,Moore not only told Stevenson how to improve the formulation of his theory as purely expressivist doctrine but indicated a certain limited attraction toward the theory when so improved. But in nothing he published did he ever waver in this manner with respect to any naturalist position
